HEIDELBERGER NECKARSCHLEIMER (Germany)

There is always the reason why each of Rugby tours is unforgetable….. so it happened in 1982 when combined team of Rudergesellschaft Heidelberg and Victoria Linden Hannover  flew over the ocean to Fort Lauterdale in Florida.

By the accident the players “came in contact” with the veteran rugby – Golden Oldies from New Zealand.

The year after in 1983 “Heidelberger” intended to take part at the world GOR Festival in Sydney (Australia) but the time for preperations was too short, so in 1985 in London 40 “Neckarschleimers” led by Dieter Entenmann – Heidelberger Super Oldie - participated for the first time ever one world GOR eventl.

This was the begining of the continous, 25 years long work for Dieter as the team manager and regular participation at the golden oldies festivals from Canada to Cook Islands.....

The first “European experience” was the participation at the 2^nd European Festival in 1994 in Heidelberg; since then “Heidelberger” were individually, as the part of the German teams, at almost all EGOR events, but coming now all together after 14 years to Madeira is fullfilled with great expectations..........
